With a fleet selected click on the round button with a ship on it to open the Fleet Roster. On the open book that appears you can see each of the ships in the selected fleet. By clicking on the ship pictures you may select and unselect particular ships for orders. Although this method is slower than using the toolbar, it permits you to select particular ships.
